How do I accept cookies for my SPS account while maintaining high cookie privacy settings?

If you have set up Internet Explorer to restrict or block cookies, but are interested in becoming an SPS account holder (which requires cookies to function), there is a way to maintain your security level but accept the cookies required for your SPS account.

Use Internet Explorer to visit any page of on Sorcerer's Place and you will see a small symbol that looks like an eye with a red circle next to it in the bottom right section of the Internet Explorer window. When you hover over this image with your mouse cursor it will say "Privacy Report." Double click this icon and it will bring up the Privacy Report window for your browser. In the lower right corner of the Privacy Report window you will see a "Settings…" button, click this button to open the Internet Properties window. The lower portion of the Internet Properties window includes a "Web Sites" section with an "Edit…" button; click the "Edit..." button to open the Per Site Privacy Actions window.

The "Manage Web sites:" section of the Per Site Privacy Actions window will allow you to scroll through the websites you have blocked or allowed to create cookies on your computer in numerical/alphabetical order and view the status of cookies for each of the sites listed. Most on the list will say "Always Block" or "Always Allow." To approve cookies for Sorcerer's Place, find sorcerers.net on the domain list and double click the name. This will cause sorcerers.net to appear in the "Address of Web site:" field near the top of the window. Once sorcerers.net appears in the field, set it to Allow by clicking the "Allow" button. Double check the "Manage Web sites:" window to ensure that sorcerers.net is now set to "Always Allow." Click okay on both the "Per Site Privacy Actions" and the Internet Properties windows, then close any remaining windows. At this time it is best to close Internet Explorer and reopen it before visiting Sorcerer's Place again to complete your SPS account application to ensure it now correctly accepts the required SPS account cookies.
