The final official (version 26498)
patch for Throne Of Bhaal has been released by BioWare, so
here are all the fixes from the Shadows of Amn FixPack that
have been verified to be still required and to not cause problems,
and new fixes for both Throne of Bhaal's bugs and Shadows
of Amn bugs that weren't resolved before. Please make
sure to read the ReadMe files included with all of these archives!
IMPORTANT: None of these files should be installed
without the Throne Of Bhaal expansion! Check the Shadows of
Amn Bugfixes below for fixes tested with Shadows of Amn, as
a few of them have been changed for Throne of Bhaal or are
no longer required.
FixPack
v1.12 (2001 - Sept. - 27) contains all of the fixes from the
Baldurdash website in a self-installing executable that will
find your Baldur's Gate II: Throne Of Bhaal Override folder.
385KB. Please be sure to read the ReadMe placed in your
Baldur's Gate II: Throne Of Bhaal main folder if you wish
to search for certain changes to items and gameplay after
installation.
English-Language
Game Text Update v1.2 (2003 - Mar. - 08) contains all
the changes from the Shadows Of Amn update that vastly improve
all the game text: weapon descriptions are now more accurate,
multi-damage or non-obvious weapons list their true enchantment
level and all kits are present in the restrictions, the kits'
descriptions were corrected, hundreds of typos/spelling/grammatical/punctuation
errors were eliminated, and many other changes were made to
make Baldur's Gate II: Throne Of Bhaal more enjoyable, plus
made hundreds more corrections to the existing SoA areas.
Barring problems, this will be the final edition of this
update. Self-installing, 2.72MB. If you have
mods installed that add to or change game text, you will have
to reinstall them after installing this update. Future
WeiDU versions of both this and the SoA updates will allow
installation without affecting existing mods.
Shadows
Over Soubar Compatible FixPack v1.12 (2003 - Jan. - 11)
is a special build of the FixPack above for players with Charles
Bisson's Shadows Over Soubar mod installed, so individual
downloads and installation of all the fixes (other than the
few that were to be avoided as they were in conflict) are
no longer required. 359KB. Again, please be sure to read
the ReadMe placed in your Baldur's Gate II: Throne Of Bhaal
main folder if you wish to search for certain changes to items
and gameplay after installation.
NOTE: All of the fixes included in the FixPack
are also available as individual archive downloads on this
page at Baldurdash. |
Baldurdash Shadows of Amn Bugfixes by Kevin Dorner |

The one-and-only final patch has
left a few "issues" unresolved, so the author is
doing what he can to repair them. All files have been thoroughly
tested, some he played completely through the game with just
to ensure they worked and didn't cause further problems. Please
make sure to read the ReadMe files included with all of these
archives!
IMPORTANT: None of these files should be installed
on top of the Throne Of Bhaal expansion! As well, if you are
planning on installing Throne Of Bhaal, it does (and is supposed
to) replace the Game Text Update completely.
FixPack
v3.61 (2001 - Sept. - 16) contains all of the fixes from the
Baldurdash website in a self-installing executable that will
find your Baldur's Gate 2 Override folder. This Fixpack does
not add any functionality to Fixpack 3.6, but changes all
the last modification dates of the files to 1995, preventing
the problem where BioWare's installers refused to overwrite
newer files. You should still use the Uninstaller below before
installing Throne of Bhaal. 385KB. Two caveats: the files
JAHEIRAP.DLG, SW1H24.ITM, SW1H40.ITM, PLAT11.ITM and SPWI603.SPL
will be deleted by this FixPack if present in your Override
folder, and if you're playing a CE-aligned mage or
sorcerer and have already cast Find Familiar, do not let your
familiar die or you will not be able to summon another
one, nor will the current familiar's Blur ability be restored
by this fix.
English-Language
Game Text Update v1.3 (2003 - Mar. - 08) vastly improves
all the game text: weapon descriptions are now more accurate,
multi-damage or non-obvious weapons list their true enchantment
level and all kits are present in the restrictions, familiars'
descriptions contain all their abilities and match them properly,
the kits' descriptions were corrected, hundreds of typos/spelling/grammatical/punctuation
errors were eliminated, and many other changes were made to
make Baldur's Gate II more enjoyable. Self-installing, 2.32MB.
(Given its size, this fix is separate from the FixPack and
all other fixes below.) This will definitely (barring
problems) be the final update for this item now that further
errors found when doing the ToB update have been retroactively
applied.
Throne
Of Bhaal Pre-Install Prep Uninstaller v3.6 prepares your
system for a bug-free installation of Throne Of Bhaal. It
automatically removes all Baldurdash fixes, all Tweaks and
Cheats that can be found on Baldurdash, several more problematic
patches from elsewhere, restores 15 official BioWare patch
files that may have been overwritten from fixes/tweaks/cheats,
and fixes the DIALOG.TLK last-modification date problem if
you've installed the Baldurdash Game Text Update or any third-party
custom items (such as .TBG items.) And it's only 110KB! Note:
As this uninstaller contains compiled DOS batch code, it is
not guaranteed to function under Windows NT or Windows 2000...
but neither is BG2! DO NOT run this after Throne of Bhaal
is installed! It is designed to refuse to install if Throne
of Bhaal is present, but a missing registry key may prevent
this. It will not remove the Bonus CD Merchants.
NOTE: All of the fixes included in the FixPack
are also available as individual archive downloads on this
page at Baldurdash. |

| ToB Juggernaut Golem Fix by TIN_MAN (Submitted) |
1kb |
Download |
| With this fix, the golem now deals
8d8 damage plus the 2d6 additional stunning damage and it is
immune to +1 weapons and less - just like in the golem's description. |
| Triple-Class Mage HLA Fix by Kevin Dorner |
2kb |
Download |
| This fix allows allows Fighter/Mage/Thieves
and Fighter/Mage/Clerics to gain the abilities to have an extra
6th, 7th and 8th level spell slot. The restriction of HLA mage
abilities from these multi-classes was specifically stated to
be because they can't learn or cast 9th level spells under the
eight million experience point cap, but none of these require
9th level scribing or casting ability. |
| ShadowDaemon's Bastard Sword 1-handed/2-handed
Wielding Mod (Submitted) |
6kb |
Download |
This mod makes the game's excellent
bastard swords true 'Hand-and-a-Half' swords. It gives every
Bastard Sword in the game the ability to be used either single-handed
or double-handed. NOTE:
You'll need to use some TeamBG tools to install this. |
| Concurrent SoA NPC Romances Hack by Sir Kalthorine
ut Wistan |
9kb |
Download |
With this patch it doesn't matter
which NPC you "pick" in the conversations that would normally
end one of the romances in favour of another. All romances
will still continue as if you picked the respective NPCs.
It will also allow female PCs to have romances with female
NPCs, and romances will also progress in any game environment.
NOTE: Please make sure to read
the readme file included in the zip first, where the author
explains exactly how the whole thing works and what you should
look out for! |
| Concurrent ToB NPC Romances Hack by Sir Kalthorine
ut Wistan |
12kb |
Download |
These scripts should allow ANY
race AND gender to play through all female romances in both
"Shadows of Amn" AND "Throne of Bhaal"
to their conclusions, without having to "choose"
one particular female to continue a romance with.
NOTE: Please make sure to read
the readme file included in the zip first, where the author
explains exactly how the whole thing works and what you should
look out for! |
| Keep All BG1 Items On Imported Char by Kevin Dorner |
6kb |
Download |
| These files allow all the items held
by an imported character or characters to be kept, including
Drizzt's swords and armour, if they were obtained. Though this
is now allowed, Drizzt may still become angry when he's eventually
met if his swords or armour were held by the protagonist on
import, and Malchor Harpell will still appear if Drizzt's friends'
items are picked up, so this is not recommended, but any items
present in Baldur's Gate 1 may be kept without reprisal. |
| All Race Romances Hack by Kevin Dorner |
5kb |
Download |
| Any race can have a romance with any
of the four possible NPC characters when you install this patch.
Note: This file will not affect existing games when installed,
only newly started ones. It is also not designed to permit you
to have more than one romance simultaneously, just to fix what
some would see as an unfair and arbitrary restriction. |
| SoA/ToB Free Alignment by Leorand (Submitted) |
1kb |
Download |
| This small hack allows you to choose
whatever alignment you wish, regardless of what class, multiclass
or kit you choose. |
| TDD Kit Removal by Alavin (Submitted) |
281kb |
Download |
| This replaces the 2DA files for the
kits with the basic BioWare ones, meaning that the kits from
The Darkest Day can be replaced with other kits. The standard
kits are still usable. |
| Happy Group by Sir Kalthorine ut Wistan |
23kb |
Download |
With this patch you are able to
create your party from any NPCs of your liking, without having
to worry about how they react when put together. So for instance,
you could now have Viconia and Keldorn in the same party without
fear that Keldorn might kill Viconia. Same goes for all other
evil/good party combinations - NPCs will never leave or get
into fights because of alignment conflicts.
NOTE: Please make sure to read
the readme file included in the zip first, where the author
explains exactly how the whole thing works and what you should
look out for! |
| Evil Dialogues Override by Kevin Dorner |
1kb |
Download |
A simple and effective way to prevent
Edwin, Korgan, and Viconia from suddenly leaving your group
if your reputation happens to reach 18 or greater, which will
break the Viconia romance and can leave your group in a bit
of a rough spot if it happens in an out-of-the-way place.
NOTE: Please make sure to read
the readme file included in the zip first, where the author
explains exactly how the whole thing works and what you should
look out for! |
| No Bottoms Patch by TeamBG |
3kb |
Download |
| This patch replaces the 1 Bag of Holding,
all 6 scroll cases and all 6 gem bags in BG2 with versions that
have no bottoms (they do not fill up). These will only work
if you have never used these containers before. If you are using
a save game where one of these containers has been used already,
it's too late. The information about a carriable container is
stored in your save game file once you have used it. |
| BG2 Grand Mastery Rules Fix Patch by TeamBG |
1kb |
Download |
| This patch will set Attacks Per Round
and Grand Mastery rules correct to match BG/IWD/AD&D. They
were changed for BG2 because of game balance. |
