Why He's Included and How to Use Effectively

Sarevok could conceivably dual class to either Thief or Mage depending on your preferences, although I would recommend you do that as soon as you hit 2,750,000xp if you're interested.

But Sarevok is already set up for being a two-handed warrior who dishes helluva damage, so there's a lot of incentive to keep him as is. Sarevok has a place in both my good and evil parties. The Ascension mod forces the Sarevok banters with the protagonist at certain intervals, which gives me the option of letting him remain evil or turning him into a good guy.

Avastrian will choose dialogue options that impress upon Sarevok the value of freedom, and the futility of pursuing power for its own sake. Sarevok's alignment will then change to Chaotic Good afterwards. His role in the good party is similar to that of Minsc, whom he replaces. He's there to inflict severe damage with any one of a number of two-handed weapons at his disposal.

Asteroth will choose dialogue options that involve the pursuit of power and ambition, so Sarevok will stay Chaotic Evil. His role will actually become roughly parallel to Keldorn's once he acquires the Soul Reaver +6 (available through the item upgrade mod), a two-handed warrior and magic-resistant Mage killer rolled into one.
