Arl Eamon's Estate

Arl Eamon's Estate

Arl Eamon and LoghainTo get to this part of the game, you have to fulfill all of the treaty missions that involve recruiting allies for the war against the Darkspawn. These include either the Elves or Werewolves of the Brecilian Forest, the forces of Arl Eamon, either the Templars or the Circle of Magi, and the Dwarves of Orzammar. Once that is done, speak to Arl Eamon in Redcliffe Castle. This part of the game will start with a cutscene with Arl Eamon and Teryn Loghain sharing thinly veiled threats and accusations. Once it is over, Arl Eamon tasks you with persuading as many of the nobles as you can to throw their lot against Loghain.

  1. These are exits to the Market District at the southwest corner.

  2. In this room is a chest where you will find a Love Letter and another random item.

  3. In this room you will find Leliana and Zevran.

  4. In this room is a chest. Wynne will also be here.

  5. Here in this room will be Oghren.

  6. Here in this room you will find Shale.

  7. In this room is a chest.

  8. You will find the Mabari War Hound, Morrigan and Sten in this room.

  9. Here is where Queen Anora will be found, at least after you rescue her. There is a chest in this room.

  10. Both Alistair and Arl Eamon are in this room. To progress this part of the game, you will frequently need to speak with the Arl, both to provide updates and to get new quests. In fact, the first one will be waiting for you when you first arrive. An Elven woman named Erlina is here, and relates that Queen Anora has been kidnapped by the Arl of Howe. Arl Eamon considers it imperative that she be rescued, both because Anora may become a powerful ally, and because Loghain will win if he can pin Anora's death on Arl Eamon.

Once Queen Anora is rescued, she will intially be here alongside Arl Eamon. The next issue of discussion is who is to hold the reigns of power after Loghain. Here you as the Grey Warden have quite a significant voice to add to the discussion, depending on your dialogue choices. Note that nothing ultimately will be fatal to progressing the game towards a conclusion, but it may have profound consequences for the epilogue, and the precise details of what happens during the Landsmeet itself.

Along the way, Arl Eamon would also like you to try and win allies to support him in the Landsmeet against Teryn Loghain. Much of this you can accomplish along the way when you're trying to rescue Queen Anora. But if you want to make time for it, quite a few of the prospective Nobles can be found in the main room of the Gnawed Noble Tavern. Bann Wulff lost his noble holding during the Blight, but you won't be able to convince him of anything, at least not until the Landsmeet itself. Bann Sighard is willing to give his support if you rescued his son while searching for Queen Anora in the Dungeon of the Arl of Denerim's Estate. Bann Alfstanna is willing to give her support if you bring her a signet ring from a Templar who has also been imprisoned in the Dungeon of the Arl of Denerim's Estate. Incidentally, she'll also give you the Spirit Ward as a reward.

Queen AnoraOnce you rescue Queen Anora, she makes no bones about the fact that she wants to become sovereign of Ferelden, and indeed she presses for your loyalty on this point. Note that if you started off the with Noble origins story as a Human Noble Male, she will be accepting of your offer to rule at her side as King. If you choose, you can discuss this further with Queen Anora in her bedroom.

Arl Eamon, at least when not in earshot of Anora, prefers Alistair, both because Alistair is the son of the legendary King Maric, and because Arl Eamon does not altogether trust Queen Anora.

Another possibility is to convince both Anora and Alistair to enter a politically convenient marriage on the basis that he's the son of Maric who can lead in wartime, but can leave the politics to Anora. This will require making a successful persuasion check with Alistair if he has not been 'hardened' previously.

In the meantime, their next task for you is to investigate why there is unrest in the Elven Alienage. Your ultimate goal in this mission is to find documents that implicate Teryn Loghain in slave trading.

Once you succeed, speak to Arl Eamon again, and he will proceed to call the Landsmeet. This means that you have to head over to the Landsmeet Chamber, with at least Alistair in tow.

  11. Side Quest: The Grey Warden Vault

This quest is available if you've rescued Riordan from Arl Howe's Dungeon and if you gave Riordan the Grey Warden Documents. After Riordan is free, he'll make his way out and now appears in the same room as Arl Eamon. You can speak to Riordan for a lot of background information, as well as the location of the Grey Warden Vault. Riordan will then indicate to you where it can be found. Head to the warehouse located at #15 in the Market District. The difference is that you can now click on the shelf, and then a door, to access the Grey Warden vault. Among the containers you`ll be able to find the Axe of the Grey (Silverite), the High Constable's Mace (Silverite), the Griffon's Helm (Silverite), a Map of Anderfels, and Duncan's Shield.

When you gift Duncan's Shield to Alistair, he'll be quite grateful, earning an approval boost with him. He'll also now be donning Duncan's Shield (Silverite).
