GITHYANKI HIDEOUT

Merchant Quarter

The Only Things Worse Than Luskans ...

I report my success to Captain Breilana in the Watch Headquarters (#8 on the Merchant Quarter map) and earn 300xp and 800gp. Her next job for me is to drive out some assassins who have settled in Neverwinter. Their Hideout is at #13 on the Merchant Quarter map.

*Evil* The Only Things Worse Than ...

The equivalent video for Zarathos, where it's Axle who gives the order.

Githyanki Hideout

Githyanki Hideout

Now I make the rounds of the hideout itself, killing any Githyanki I find. I brought along Neeshka, since her presence as a character with a lower Effective Character Level (ELC) will increase the increase to be earned from the many Githyanki here. She always positions herself for backstabs, and uses the Displacement ability from her Robe of Scintillating Colors if she gets surrounded by multiple foes.

Qara uses Fireball if she can safely catch many Githyanki before they reach the party. She'll use Firebrand instead if the Githyanki are interspersed with the party members.

Casavir frequently uses Divine Might to increase his damage output, but may use Divine Shield if he gets swarmed by multiple foes.

Valeria puts herself in the thick of it, keeping Combat Expertise active and protected by multiple buffs like Mirror Image and Stoneskin (from Qara). She'll also use Bladeweave for particularly intense fights.

The fights can still be pretty challenging, especially if their Mages get going with their spells from behind a wall of warrior Githyanki. Whenever possible, I send the Beetle Familiar to tag a Mage with the Touch of Idiocy spell. It doesn't always work, but when it does it effectively takes away the Mage's ability to cast any spells at all.

Blade Golem and Githyanki

I eventually make my way to #2. I cast Haste on myself before entering the room itself. A Blade Golem comes out of a portal and begins attacking the Githyanki, and me as well. Note how I tried to collect xp by killing any of the Githyanki I can before the Golem does. I then gang up on the Golem, aided by Haste. I eventually manage to wear it down.

I head back to the entrance, where I have to fight a few more Githyanki.

Now it's time for a visit to the Archives.
