LIZARDFOLK CAVE

Highcliff North Coast

Highcliff - North Coast

I travel to the location marked as 'Lizardfolk Cave' and begin at the spot marked #5 on the Highcliff North Coast map. At #1, #2, and #3 is where I have to fight a few Lizardfolk. There will also be the odd trap here and there, including #1 as soon as I enter. The Lizardfolk aren't difficult, and fall easily to flanking tactics. At #4 will be a couple of Lizardfolk, and a Shaman. The Shaman's spells aren't difficult to weather, so the fight is easily won.

Lizardfolk Cave

Whyte's Morningstar and Heart of the Beast

I start at #1 on the Lizardfolk Cave map. There will be plenty of Lizardfolk to fight at the places marked #2 to #6 on the map. Flanking them and taking them out one at a time still works. Be careful, as there will also be traps at these same places. It helps to use the 'follow me' mode to make sure nobody runs over a trap, and saving 'attack nearest' mode only for when monsters actually appear. There will also be containers with random / mundane loot at these locations.

There will be a few more Lizardfolk at #6. A nearby chest will have an item called the Heart of the Beast (one time use of Divine Power (7)) and Whyte's Morningstar (+1, +1 electrical damage, +3 parry). I have no use for either, so I'll just sell them.

I gradually make my way past the point at #8, with only the smaller north cave left.

Lizardfolk Chieftain

After resting, I put up the usual buffs. In addition to that, Valeria also buffs herself up with Ghostly Visage, Mirror Image and Bladeweave.

At #9 will be the Lizardfolk Chieftain, a Lizardfolk Shaman, and a few more Lizardfolk. Here I show how to get an effective pre-emptive strike with an area damage spell. Valeria issues a 'follow me' command. I then command Elanee, while the game is paused, to carefully aim the Ice Storm so that it gets all of the enemies. I immediately switch back to Valeria (whom I haven't subjected to the 'follow me' command) so that she herself doesn't run ahead. I wait until the Ice Storm hits before switching to 'attack nearest', and quickly annihilate the wounded Lizardfolk Warriors. I then flank and take out the weakened Chieftain. The Shaman falls shortly afterwards, and leaves behind a Major Circlet of Blasting (Searing Light (5) 3/day). I'll just sell it.

The door to #10 is both locked and trapped. The containers have random loot, as well as a Halberd called the Ravager (+1, +1d6 sonic damage), which I'll also sell. The way out is at #11.

To Neverwinter

I now speak to Elder Mayne, and the ship is prepared to take me to Neverwinter. I also get the Armor of Loyalty (+1 Studded Leather Armor, immunity to Charm Person, immunity to Dominate Person). I save that armor for Bishop, for when he guides me to the Githyanki lair at the conclusion of Act I.

A couple of cutscenes will ensue, revealing new players in the drama, the Githyanki, as well as a Warlock with glowing tattoos.

The party now finds itself in the Docks District.
