IRONFIST CLANHOLD

Ironfist Clanhold

Strange Part

I start off at #1 on the Ironfist Hold map. I kill more Bugbears at #2. At #3 is a chest that holds a Strange Part that I'll use soon.

Gruum and Grishk

I press on to #4 and kill many Bugbears there. There is a nearby mineral deposit that I click on for 50xp. Clicking on the deposit will also yield an ingot or two when I take over Crossroad Keep.

I go west to #5, where I have to fight two Ogres named Gruum and Grishk. Grobnar starts off with his Curse Song, and the battle itself becomes a matter of course. One of the Ogres leaves behind the Watchman's Club (Club +1, light, +2 Listen, +2 Spot, Alertness), which I plan to sell later on.

A nearby chest has the Greater Boots of Tumbling, which I also intend to sell.

Bickering Bugbears

I continue north to #6. I could let the Bugbears kill each other, but I'd much rather kill them for the xp. One of them leaves behind a Bugbear Tusk, which can be distilled into a Glowing Water Essence.

Strange Machine

I continue east and kill a few more Bugbears. At #7 is a strange machine that needs the Strange Part from #3 to open a nearby gate. I choose the "Good job" dialogue option in order to increase my influence with Grobnar.

*Evil* Strange Machine

Here it's Neeshka who gets the machine working. Both her and Zarathos express a desire to loot what's behind the door. That results in Khelgar becoming quite upset, and Zarathos losing -1 influence with Khelgar.

Grausch

The party proceeds through the next door. At #8, on the other side of the next door, will be Grausch and a pair of Bugbears. Grobnar starts off with his Curse Song, and the party makes quick work of its enemies. Grausch leaves behind a Halberd +2 and a Ring of Protection +2, both of which I'll sell.

Gauntlets of Ironfist

A chest close behind where Grausch was has the Gauntlets of Ironfist (+1 attack bonus, +1d8 damage vs. giants, +1d4 bludgeoning damage, +3 Strength). They will become more powerful in conjunction with the Belt of Ironfist when I obtain it much later on. I choose the dialogue option that says Khelgar should keep the Gauntlets in order to get a +4 increase in influence with him. Even so, the dialogue option doesn't preclude me from keeping the Gauntlets and saving them for Casavir when he joins.

I also choose the subsequent dialogue option that brings the party near Khulmar.

Trial of the Maimed

Now I speak to Khulmar, whereby Khelgar reconciles with the other members of the Ironfist Clan. This is all that is needed to pass the Trial of the Maimed.

Merchant Quarter

I head back to the Prior Hlam in the Temple of Tyr (#3 on the Merchant Quarter map) and inform him that Khelgar has passed the Trial of the Maimed. I get 250xp for this.

Trial of the Even-Handed

I speak at length with Khelgar about his motivations for wanting to become a Monk. I then eventually choose the dialogue that asks him what he thinks about his companions, and Elanee and Neeshka more specifically. I need at least an influence of 7 with Khelgar to get the needed response. After that, I inform Prior Hlam that Khelgar has passed the Trial of the Even-Handed, and get 250xp. Khelgar now needs only to pass the Trial of Justice, which is upcoming, before he can become a Monk.

Now I approach the Bonegnasher Clan.
